Artemis II: To The Moon!

NASA’s historic return to the Moon is just hours away with a projected launch at 6:24 EDT. The Artemis II mission is one of the most diverse crew missions that NASA assembled. Since 2010, we’ve brought the excitement of NASA space missions and science directives to our diverse audiences, increasing awareness and engagement in STEM disciplines and careers. It has been an honor over the last 16 years to be The NASA Lady and connect with audiences all over the world on this website. It has been equally as long since I last attended a live mission launch from Kennedy Space Center. After viewing several shuttle launches in our NASA Aeronautics Education Laboratory, the reality that the shuttle program was nearing an end and I had never witnessed a shuttle launch put me in panic mode! Watching launches on NASA TV was good but being there in person was even better. STS-133 holds so many memories and was the beginning of my brand. STS-135, the last shuttle launch, was sad in many ways but being there for both launches meant I had secured a place in history for myself that I could take and share with students, teachers, parents, and communities. As a NASA Solar System Ambassador since 2010, I have had the privilege of meeting incredible people, including astronauts, mission specialists, scientists, and dedicated
NASA education specialists. It has been a blast, and as we move into the Artemis Age, I am still as excited as I was 16 years ago for this new chapter in space exploration.
Here is a live feed for anyone who wants to watch today’s launch preparations and the launch itself, which right now is listed as a “GO”.
